If you are a youtube user or lover or created a channel on youtube then these article is only for you. YouTube creators are gaining a number of new tools to generate revenue from their videos, and YouTube also provides creators with various ways to engage their fans in a positive way.
At VidCon, YouTube announced new ways through which creators can make money and grow their communities on the platform. These changes include channel memberships, merchandise, and the facility to run pre-recorded videos as a “live moment” that creators and fans can watch together.
In addition to memberships, creators will also be able to sell the merchandise to fans directly. In a shelf straightly below the video itself, creators with more than 10,000 subscribers can offer merchandise like tee-shirts, hats, phone cases or any one of over 20 different merchandise items that make sense for their channel.
Channel memberships have some additional requirements. Creators will need to have 100,000 subscribers or even more, be over 18 and be members of the YouTube Partner Program. It will also allow subscribers to get access to members-only posts in the Community tab where creators will share custom perks from time to time, like access to an exclusive live stream, additional videos, shout-outs, news of upcoming events, early access to ticket sales and other things.
Another new feature by YouTube called Premieres, which allows creators to debut pre-recorded videos as a live moment. It automatically will generate a public landing page to build anticipation and hype up new content. When all fans show up to watch the premiere, they’ll be able to chat with each other (and with the creator) in real time and synchronized way.
